FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Where are you located?  We are in Western New York State, between Rochester and Buffalo.

Can we come and visit your cats/kittens?  No, we are not open to the public for general meet and greets of our adults or our kittens. Kittens are either much too young for visits or are being reserved by families on our waiting list. It is not safe nor considerate of us to allow random visits to kittens that actually belong to other families who have abided by our policies and waited to meet their kitten at the appropriate time for their kitten's homecoming.

Are deposits refundable?  Deposits are transferable to future litters but not refundable.

Do you deliver kittens?  Kitten transportation to home is the family's responsibility.

How will I choose a kitten when it is my turn?  Kitten pictures are shared on social media at very young ages. We will contact families when we have a litter born that they will most likely have a kitten choice from. If the family is interested in that litter, we will begin sharing pictures and videos with them to help with the process of choosing their kitten at about 8 weeks of age.

Are Maine Coon kittens hypoallergenic?  No cat/kitten with fur is hypoallergenic. Allergies, intensity and triggers are individual not only to each person but also to each cat/kitten. People often become desensitized to their own house pets while still having difficulties when introduced to unfamiliar pets. We don't encourage adding kittens to your family if you know or suspect children with allergies. However, speaking from experience, adults can make their own choice as to how well they can tolerate and self-manage symptoms.

Do cats need to be bathed?  Generally, cats/kittens do not need to be bathed because they are self-grooming. However, to help with controlling loose coat fur seasonally for your home, as well as for the pet's comfort, fur balls and matting, many families choose to have their cats groomed professionally 1-2 times a year. Bathing too often or with a shampoo not gentle enough for cats can lead to fur breakage and skin irritation and/or dryness. Your cat/kitten can also benefit from a little trimming at crucial areas for easier hygiene once fur gets longer.

How big do the Maine Coon cats get?  Our females generally average 15-20 pounds by the time they are 1-2 years old, and our males are generally well into 20-25 pounds by 1-2 years old. Both will continue to fill out and gain at a slower rate for another few years, finally reaching an average of 18-25 pounds for the girls and 25-30 pounds for the boys by 4 years of age.

What form of payment do you accept?  We accept Apple Pay, Zelle transfer and personal checks for kitten deposits. Cash, cashier's check or money order will be accepted for final payment at the time the kitten is picked up by their family. WE NEVER ASK FAMILIES FOR ADDITIONAL PAYMENTS BETWEEN YOUR DEPOSIT AND YOUR FINAL PAYMENT!

Are your Maine Coons registered pedigree lines?  Yes, they are fully registered pedigree lines with CFA and/or ACFA.
